bungalow: i am 16 and i come to bungalow because otherwise i would be on the streets causing trouble and all that but bungalow keeps me from that.

The Bungalow Youth Project is run by the Buckfastleigh Community Development Trust and buys in the Expertise of Devon Youth Service Southern Team to ensure that the youth sessions and building are run in a professional way and to a high quality by trained youth workers. The partnership between The BCDT and the youth service has been successful for many years and should be used as an example of a way to operate a busy youth club in a rural area (that does not offer much in the way of activites, advice and support for its young people); not only successfully but as a way of keeping the cost of running the local youth provision to an absolute minimum to the tax payer in these times of austerity.

The only open provision for young people in Ashburton is the Bank Youth Project, there is no Church Youth Club. There is a youth section to Ashburton Football Club, an Army Cadet Force, a Beavers section of St John’s Ambulance and a Brownie Pack.
South Dartmoor Community College organises a range of extra curricular activities for their students.
