|Introduction||This workshop is based upon DCC Disciplinary & Capability & Managing Sickness Absence Policies & aims to build the knowledge, skills & confidence required to fulfil the role of Designated / Disciplining Officer.|
|Course aims||To enable managers to complete the role of designated officer|
|Course objectives||Managers will be:|
Chief Officers, Deputy Chief Officers & Senior Officers named by the former, who will be required and have the delgated authority, to take action up to & including dismissal as part of their role. This includes chairing Formal Absence Hearings. Managers need to confirm with their HOS the requirement to undertake this training & role of Designated Officer.
In addition, managers from partner agencies with joint working arrangements & responsibility for managing DCC staff.
|Methods / approach||All delegates will attend a half -day workshop.|

For Non-attendance on the day there will be a charge of £80.
For cancellations between 1-5 days prior to the start date there will be a charge of £60.
However, an alternative delegate could attend if appropriate for the course – please contact the Performance Development Admin team for clarification.
