Consultation 2014 (closed)

Over the last three years we’ve managed to save £4.7 million by changing the way we manage our waste in Devon, but we need to save more in order to make further savings.

The changes we are considering could save our waste management service around £265,000 per year, which will help towards the £100 million savings the council has to make by 2017 in response to spending reductions imposed by the Government.

We’ve looked closely at what services we have to provide, and those we do on a discretionary basis so we can use our resources more effectively. We hope our proposals will help us make savings whilst continuing to work with residents to reduce and reuse waste materials in the county.
