Part-night street lighting in Exeter – have your say

Proposals

Outline proposals have been developed with the help of local councillors, the police and other stakeholders. The outcome is that lights in residential areas will generally be switched off between 12.30am and 5:30am with lights in the city centre and on main roads remaining on all night. The County Council has already decided to invest in an advanced system to remotely control key areas of street lighting in the city. This system will allow much more flexibility in the operation of street lights by providing direct control of every light connected to the system.
