Supporting Children in English Lessons for Teaching Assistants
This package will explore how children can best be supported to develop independent strategies for spelling, proof reading and evaluating their writing. It will include an exploration of key skills children need to develop for independent reading particularly their comprehension strategies.
The sessions will consider the role of the adult and how they can provide the best support for pupils.
Each of the three half-day sessions is designed to stimulate thinking about how to support and challenge children in the classroom. There will be gap tasks to undertake with children between sessions one and two and sessions two and three.
