South West Educational Transition Conference: Supporting Pupils Wellbeing – Thursday 18 January 2018
Educational Transitions are very significant events in the lives of children and young people. The link between the period of transition and a subsequent dip in attainment is well established in international research and transitions are frequently linked to increased levels of stress and anxiety. How schools and settings support children and young people through major transitions has a profound impact on their emotional wellbeing as well as academic attainment.
This conference will provide school, nursery and pre-school staff with the support, strategies and guidance to implement strong transition arrangements for all children.
Keynote speakers, Sir Tim Brighouse and Dr Kathryn Weston, will examine ways in which schools can best assist children, including the most vulnerable, to make progress in their confidence and competence on transferring.
