Annual SEND Conference – Friday 9 June 2017
This annual event for leaders of SEND working in all phases of education provides an invaluable opportunity to update knowledge and improve practice in schools to enhance educational outcomes for children with special educational needs and disabilities.
The day will provide an opportunity to share best practice with colleagues and to hear from inspirational speakers and leading experts in the field of SEN and Disabilities. Networking and practical workshops will encourage debate, discussion and reflection on how new ideas can shape future classroom practice.
With the SEND reforms nearly three years on but transitional arrangements ongoing until March 2018, practice continues to evolve to meet this challenge. This conference aims to consolidate understanding of local arrangements and support best practice as well as offering a national perspective on the changes.
Following the new DfE Code of Practice, which gives an official focus for schools on Mental Health with the creation of the designated area of Social, Emotional and Mental Health; Jane Friswell will discuss and share thoughts on how schools keep their children emotionally strong, how to develop a curriculum framework around emotional wellbeing and what pedagogy will facilitate the development of emotional resilience in our children with SEN.
"Weeks run from Monday to Sunday. Please note that weeks without communications to schools are ignored and the links will go to the last week where a communication was made in this category."
