Yesterday I tweeted a link to a procurement opportunity which I have to apologise for as it was the wrong link…It was the previous framework details….
The council has gone out to tender with a revised Communications Framework. We’ve had this running for a few years now but this update now includes web design and development and mobile app development. The downside to this is that we have not been able to ascertain previous spending in this areas so it is not possible these lots will be worth over the period of time. However I think it is safe to say that we will need to be open by default and digital by design and we have a very large complex website site which needs sorting out. I’m not convinced that my team has the time to do it all.
The important thing to note about this framework is that during the life cycle of the framework all services in the council will be legally bound to use this framework for all services/products listed within it. So for example no one will be able to use a web development company unless they are on this framework.
One of the things I wish to do once we have gone through this process is to develop much closer relationships with suppliers and to get there views and opinions on how we can develop and improve the overall web presence for the council.
