Proud to Care Ambassadors are enthusiastic, frontline care and health staff who attend careers events and talk passionately and enthusiastically about their role in care and health. They aim to inspire people to start a career in the care and health sector and demonstrate how rewarding it can be. We currently have over 210 Ambassadors throughout Devon who attend events at schools, colleges, universities, job centres and apprenticeship events to talk honestly about their role in health and social care.
The Proud to Care Ambassadors scheme is run in association with the national Skills for Care I Care…Ambassadors initiative. The Sustainability and Transformation Programme (STP) in wider Devon, representing a large number of care and health organisations, successfully applied to be part of a pilot of Integrated Health and Social Care Ambassadors, run by Skills for Care, delivering joint activity to promote social care and health careers. The pilot ran until 30 November 2017 and is now being evaluated by Skills for Care. In Devon, we are continuing to work as an integrated service with both care and health Ambassadors.
