Exciting Training Opportunities

Adult Social Care Leadership & Management Hub

Devon County Council is trialling new Leadership and Management qualifications at apprenticeship standards. We are seeking expressions of interest from current Leaders and Managers or aspiring Leaders and Managers working in Adult Social Care and Health to join us in these new programmes.

Qualifications Options Available:

  • Level 3 (Equivalent to A levels at grades A-E) Team Leader/Supervisor
  • Level 5 (Equivalent to Foundation degree) Operational/Departmental Manager
  • Level 6 (Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree) Chartered Manger
  • Level 7 (Equivalent to a master’s degree) Senior Leader

Sounds interesting?

We are looking for initial expressions of interest in these funded courses -this does not commit you at this stage, it also doesn’t automatically guarantee your place on the course. To read the eligibility criteria click here.

If this opportunity sounds like it is for you, express your interest now by clicking here.

Important information to note:

  • The Level 3 and 5 qualifications are being developed by local colleges and training providers
  • The Level 6 and 7 qualifications are being developed by local universities and will include distance learning
  • All qualifications are fully funded by Devon County Council (this funding does not cover any associated costs such as back fill or travel time).
  • If your organisation is a levy payer, you can still express your interest in joining the programmes, but the funding would come through your organisations levy.
  • We are intending to work with different training providers and universities that have different approaches to delivery (within government guidelines) so we are hoping there will be different options available.

20% off- the- job training

Off-the-job training is defined as learning which is undertaken outside of normal day-to-day working environment and leads towards the achievement of an apprenticeship. This can include training that is delivered at the apprentice’s normal place of work but must not be delivered as part of their normal working duties.

The off-the-job training must be directly relevant to the apprenticeship framework or standard and could include the following:

  • The teaching of theory (for example: lectures, role playing, simulation exercises, online learning or manufacturer training)
  • Practical training: shadowing, mentoring, industry visits and attendance at competitions
  • Learning support and time spent writing assessments/assignments (Government Policy Background & Examples)
