Privacy notice for National Fraud Initiative

Devon Audit Partnership (DAP) supports us to comply with our role in protecting the public purse. We are participating in the regular biannual mandatory exercise to promote the proper spending of public money. Therefore It’s important that you are aware of the following:

  • We are required by law to protect the public funds we administer. We may share information provided to us with other bodies responsible for auditing or administering public funds in order to prevent and detect fraud
  • We participate in the Cabinet Office’s anti-fraud initiative, known as the National Fraud Initiative. For this initiative, we are providing particular sets of data so that they can be compared to information provided by other public bodies
  • The National Fraud Initiative will be conducted using the data matching powers bestowed on the Minister for the Cabinet Office by Part 6 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 (LAAA)
  • Data matching by the Cabinet Office is subject to a Code of Practice
  • Please note that key payroll data may be provided to bodies responsible for auditing and administering public funds for the purposes of preventing and detecting fraud
