Design a Christmas wreath for Barnstaple Pannier Market
Posted on: 25 September 2018
Local schools, businesses and community groups are being encouraged to get creative this Christmas, and design a wreath for Barnstaple Pannier Market.
Barnstaple Pannier Market is holding a ‘decorate a wreath’ competition with a Victorian Christmas theme. The competition is free to enter with wreaths of 2m in diameter and a set of 20m lights supplied.
Following the close of the competition all entries will be displayed in Barnstaple Pannier Market as part of this year’s decorations, with a plaque underneath stating who has designed it and all entrants will be named in a printed leaflet that will be given out to the public in the market.
Barnstaple Town Centre Manager, Hannah Harrington, says: “We are very excited to be launching this brand new competition to help us decorate Barnstaple Pannier Market this Christmas. We can’t wait to see the finished wreaths after they have been given the creative treatment. I am sure they will make the market look wonderfully festive and attract many more visitors to the market over the Christmas period.”
Executive Member for Economic Development, Councillor Pat Barker, says: “We are so lucky to have a thriving market in Barnstaple and I would love to encourage local businesses, schools and community groups to take part in this marvellous competition and bring their unique ideas to life as a Christmas wreath which will go on display for everyone to see.”
The judging will take place on Sunday 18 November at the North Devon Hospice Christmas art, craft and food fair.
The deadline for entries is Friday 2 November so for more information or to request a competition entry form, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or go on the Pannier Market section of the council’s website.
