More recognition for council website

The North Devon Council website has won another award in a national survey of council websites.
The website was rated best for the quality of its search, navigation and A-Z facility in the 2016-17 Socitm (Society of IT Management) Better Connected survey of 416 UK councils. Every year Socitm reviews all council websites for accessibility by the Digital Accessibility Centre and quality of information by asking customers to carry out and complete different tasks.
This recognition follows another award received by the council in the same survey last year for best district council website.
Leader of North Devon Council, Councillor Des Brailey, says: “It’s great news that we have received another award for our website. It’s increasingly important that our customers are able to do things online at a time that suits them. Our teams are constantly working on the website so that we can provide the best possible facility for them.”
The council has recently introduced more self service on the website so that people don’t have to phone or call in to the council to carry out every day tasks. This follows the complete redesign of the council website in 2015.Posted in: Community
