There’s just one month to go before North Devon’s tastiest foodie event returns to Barnstaple Pannier Market. The annual North Devon Foodfest, organised by Barnstaple Town Centre Management with support from North Devon Council, takes place on Sunday 22 October. Celebrating its 10th year, Foodfest is a gastronomic treat for the taste-buds showcasing the best local food businesses from across North Devon.
Four of the area’s best chefs will be live on stage in the market to demonstrate their talents, providing cooking tips and answering questions from the audience. The chefs this year are:
- Thomas Carr from The Olive Room, Ilfracombe
- Annie McKenzie, Masterchef finalist 2016 and Creator of Scripts for Supper
- Mark Dodson from The Mason Arms, Knowstone
- Dan Garnett from Clovelly Fish
They will be joined by hosts Seth Conway and Dez Turland from Brend Hotels, with some of the finest mixologists from Bar 62 shaking up a storm between sets, creating some of their favourite cocktails.
Executive Member for Economic Regeneration, Councillor Pat Barker, said: “With over 70 exhibitors and some fantastic talent on stage, Foodfest will once again showcase some of the fantastic food and drink producers we are lucky enough to have in North Devon. If you’ve never sampled the delicious treats on offer at Foodfest, make this your first visit – I guarantee it won’t be your last!”
Barnstaple Town Centre Manager, Hannah Harrington, said: “We’re really excited to be hosting Foodfest again this year. As well as the packed market, we’ll also have seating, music and street-food on Butchers Row again, which was a really popular addition to the festival last year. The town centre is always buzzing on Foodfest day and I’m sure this year will be no exception!”
Foodfest runs from 10am to 3.30pm, with free entry to the Pannier Market. Thanks to sponsors Rangemoors, Ashgrove, Johns of Instow and Appledore, Brend Hotels and Barnstaple Town Centre Management.Posted in: Economy
