Slide stolen from Barnstaple play area

Posted on: 13 June 2017

A slide has been unbolted and stolen from a play area in Barnstaple.

North Devon Council own the play area at East Park Road, Whiddon Valley and believe the slide was taken during the night on Sunday 4 June (2017).

The council is asking for anybody with any information to contact the police using the 101 number quoting crime reference CR/044947/17. Information can also be passed onto the Parks Team on 01271 388326 or email parks@northdevon.gov.uk.

Executive Member for Parks, Leisure and Culture at North Devon Council, Councillor Brian Moores, says: “The council refurbished the equipment at the park only last year. It’s really disappointing that someone has decided to steal the slide from the park that is so well used by local residents. I urge anybody who knows anything about the theft to get in touch so that the slide can be returned to its rightful place in the park for everyone to enjoy again.”

Pure scum bags how could you steel a slide off children who play there. I hope anyone with information should come forward because that didn’t get removed quietly
