The deadline for applications for the Community Councillor Grants fund is fast approaching. So if your group or club is looking for funding, North Devon Council currently still has over £23,000 yet to be awarded. The closing date is 31st January 2017- so get your application in quick!

The scheme offers support to organisations and projects that directly help local people, the local environment and the local community. Each of our 43 North Devon councillors has £1,000 allocated to award to projects or groups throughout the year.
Youth clubs, toddler groups, sports clubs, museums, village halls and environmental groups have all benefited from grants in the past for running costs, start-up costs or equipment for a new project or service.

To qualify for a Community Councillor Grant applicants must be a voluntary or community group, club or not-for-profit organisation that benefits the people and environment of the North Devon Council area.

Leader of North Devon Council, Cllr Des Brailey says: “Every year our Councillor Community grants help to support a variety of local clubs and organisations to continue their valuable community work and helps other projects to get started. There’s lots of information on the council website, including a list of all the projects and organisations that were supported by the fund last year”.

For further details, or to make an application visit  www.northdevon.gov.uk/grants or contact the office on 01271 388327.
