Family fun day at Bicclescombe Park

Posted on: 25 July 2016

Looking for something to do to entertain the whole family next week? If so, Bicclescombe Park in Ilfracombe may have the answer, with a family fun day being held on Tuesday 2 August.

A range of activities will be on offer at North Devon Council’s award-winning park, including arts and crafts sessions, model boat club displays, tennis taster sessions, face painting and a circus skills workshop.

Executive Member responsible for parks and leisure, Councillor Dick Jones, said: “I hope people will come out to celebrate what a wonderful park we have, right here in Ilfracombe. We have lots of fun activities planned for the day, so the whole family can enjoy themselves, see what the park has to offer and perhaps try their hand at something different.”

Local ward member, Councillor Geoff Fowler, said: “With flowers out in full bloom and new play equipment recently installed, what a perfect time to showcase the park! What’s more, the park has been awarded the Green Flag award, so we’ll also be having our official flag-raising on the day. I hope it will be an enjoyable day for everyone.”

Local ward member, Councillor Ian Meadlarkin, said: “If you haven’t been to Bicclescombe Park, then our family fun day is the perfect opportunity to see it at its best. There is always plenty to see and do and I’d like to thank not only the staff at NDC, but also all of the park’s supporters and users for taking great pride in the park.”

The free family fun day runs from 11am to 3.30pm on Tuesday 2 August, with the raising of the Green Flag taking place at 12 noon.
