It’s show time North Devon

Our stand at last year’s North Devon Show

Posted on: 20 July 2016

Final preparations are being made to North Devon Council’s stand ready for this year’s North Devon Show.

As well as providing general information about all council services, visitors to the stand will be able to:

  • find out about dog microchipping
  • check out what recycling goes where
  • get the facts on flytipping
  • have a go at a kids’ colouring competition to win a crafty prize

The show is taking place on Wednesday 3 August at Umberleigh Barton Farm, Umberleigh.

Chairman of North Devon Council, Councillor Jackie Flynn, said: “The North Devon Show is a favourite of ours. The day provides a perfect opportunity for officers and councillors to get out of the office and meet local residents to provide information and answer questions about our services. If you’re there on the day why not pop in and say hello.”

Lead Member for the Environment at North Devon Council, Councillor Rodney Cann, said: “This year we’re focusing on environmental issues including flytipping and dog microchipping, as well as our popular recycling service. If you’ve got a question, come along and ask us, we’re happy to help. While you’re with us, have a go at our kids colouring competition and help us sort our box of recycling.”

The council stand will be located in the trade stand area. It will be open from 9am-5.30pm – keep a look out for our flags.
