North Devon primary schools have until the end of the month to sign up for Schools Day at Goldcoast Oceanfest.
Each year, local children across the district are invited to a day of exciting beach activities in Croyde, co-ordinated and funded by PETROC and North Devon Council in partnership with
Aimed at Year 6 pupils in North Devon, activities include the coveted Beach Flags competition, mass participation Zumba on the main stage and the code breaker challenge to test physical and
mental strength. Schools will also have time to tour the various tents and activities in the main arena.
Executive Member for parks, leisure and culture, Councillor Dick Jones, says: “We are really proud to be able to help deliver Schools Day again this year, with the support of PETROC and the Goldcoast Oceanfest team. Schools Day is all about getting our young people out of the classroom for a fun and educational day outdoors, enjoying our wonderful natural environment. I would encourage all North Devon schools to get involved in this exciting, free event.”
Schools Day takes place on Friday 17 June and schools need to register by Monday 1 June. Although the event is provided free of charge, schools must organise and pay for their own transport and parking.
For more information and to register for the event, schools must email firstname.lastname@example.org.Posted in: Leisure
