WOW – new recycling fun for under fives at Barnstaple museum
Posted on: 4 March 2016
A new crafty recycling session for the under fives has begun at the Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon.
‘Little Makers’ can head to the museum cafe every Wednesday from 10.30-12.30 during term-time for some crafty fun with WOW (What Others Waste) North Devon Scrap Store.
There will be themed crafts using recycled materials from the scrap store, with each session costing just £1 per child.
Executive Member for Health and Wellbeing, Councillor Brian Moores, says: “The museum is very pleased to host these new craft groups for the under fives. The sessions are great value for money and an excellent opportunity for your little ones to get creative. I would encourage local families to give it a try and take a tour around the museum too – there is so much for children (and their grown-ups!) to see inside.”
WOW is a project run by Action for Children, aimed at creating a sustainable future for reusable waste from local businesses in the North Devon area. The WOW scrap store is open every Thursday and Friday from 11am-3pm and every second Saturday at Victoria House on Victoria Road, Barnstaple. See their Facebook page for more information.
