Businesses invited to have their say about business rates

Posted on: 12 February 2016

Businesses in North Devon are being invited to a free event this month to talk about budget and business rates.

North Devon Council is holding the business consultation event on Wednesday 24 February. Those attending will receive an update on the council’s 2016/17 budget and be able to find out just how their business rates are spent. There will also be an opportunity to comment on the council’s economic priorities.

Executive Member for Resources, Councillor Mike Harrison, says: “This is a good chance for local businesses to engage with us, for us to share our financial plans for the future and hear any ideas they may have.”

North Devon Council’s Executive Member for Economic development and regeneration, Councillor Pat Barker, says: “We hope as many businesses as possible will be able to join us and look forward to sharing our economic plans at this event.”

The business consultation event takes place in the Council Chamber at the Civic Centre, Barnstaple on Wednesday 24 February at 4pm.

Attendees do not need to book. However, if you are unable to attend but would like to have your say, please email or write to Economic Development, North Devon Council, PO Box 379, Barnstaple, EX32 2GR.
