The Project Initiation Document has been completed and submitted to the Department for Transportation (DfT).
The DfT has announced it will be funding further work and the development of a Strategic Outline Business Case for the scheme.
Data collection has been completed, including roadside interviews and traffic counts. These will inform the modelling of the scheme.
Public consultation on preferred options is expected to take place in late summer 2016.
