The 2015 Festival of British Archaeology, co-ordinated by the Council for British Archaeology, is now underway. The festival provides an opportunity to showcase archaeological excavations and the activities of the many local organisations, professional and community, which care for the nation’s heritage.

Local events supported by Devon County Council include:

  • Saturday 25th July – The Ipplepen Field School open day, Dainton Elms Cross, Ipplepen. 10am to 4pm.
  • Saturday 25th July – Bellever day, National park Visitor Centre, Postbridge, 11am to 4pm (http://www.dartmoor.gov.uk/visiting/vi-eventsguidedwalks/dnpa-events/bellever-day)
  • Sunday 26th July – Mount Folly Enclosures Project open afternoon, Bigbury on Sea, from 2pm (http://www.mtfolly.org/).
