Public consultation on proposals to improve the flood protection in Modbury
Flooding in the town has been a regular occurrence over the years with the most recent major events in July and November 2012, and December 2015, affecting properties and businesses. These recent floods coupled with a predicted increase in the severity of rainfall in the future and community concerns means that flood prevention measures need to be considered.
Proposals include a mix of earth embankments and field ditches at strategic locations, as well as minor surface changes in the Town to redirect surface runoff away from properties.
