For several years the Canal Ranger Service have been amassing funding for a new canal play area to be located in the canal basin in Tiverton. The funding target is £50,000 and to date £40,000 has been raised. Funding to date has been received from Devon County Council and Tiverton Town Council as well as other sources and other funding applications are pending.

Tendering for designing, providing and installing the play area equipment and associated fencing and surfacing has now been completed with Proludic identified as the successful supplier. Their designs (including an updated version of the play barge) are shown at the top of this page Installation is due to commence in 2017 following completion of a separate project to realign the roadside wall (in order to improve visibility from the car park entrance).
