Fund title: Place Based Social Action
Focus of fund/fund aims:
For partnerships to develop local networks, build capacity and identify potential social action opportunities
28 November 2017
Place Based Social Action (PBSA) is a joint £4.5m programme between the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and the Big Lottery Fund using National Lottery funding.
PBSA aims to create positive change by enabling people, communities, local non-statutory organisations and the statutory sector to work collaboratively to create a shared vision for the future of their place, and address local priorities through social action.
Expressions of Interest can be submitted by existing partnerships which have identified or are already working to address a social challenge or local priority in their area. Only one EoI can be submitted for each lower-tier or single-tier Local Authority area and must be endorsed by the Chief Executive of the Local Authority (Exeter, East Devon, Mid Devon, North Devon, South Hams, Teignbridge, Torridge, West Devon).
The programme will operate in phases so that only the most promising partnerships will get through to the final phase:
Phase 1 – for up to 20 areas, support and development, up to £5,000 towards expenses
Phase 2 – for up to 10 areas, support and development, up to £240,000 grant
Phase 3 – for up to 5 areas, up to £255,000 grant
