Fund title: Interreg 2 Seas
Focus of fund/fund aims:
For international partnership projects between coastal areas in southern England, northern France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
16 February 2015 (1st stage application)
Over the next six years, Devon will have access to funding from five separate Interreg programmes which support co-operation and sharing of good practice between European regions: Manche; 2 Seas; North West Europe; Atlantic Area; Interreg Europe.
Applications can now be made for EU funding from the 2014-2020 Interreg 2 Seas programme. The new programme will support cross-border co-operation between coastal regions in southern and eastern England (from Norfolk to the Scilly Isles), the north-eastern corner of France, and coastal areas of Belgium and the Netherlands.
The funding is for international partnership projects in the 2 Seas area to develop shared approaches, joint projects and networks dealing with:
- technological and social innovation
- low carbon technologies
- adapting to climate change
- resource-efficient economy
Projects will need to be developed in collaboration with partners from one or more of the other countries included in the 2 Seas area. To assist with this, a ‘Co-operation Corner’ has been set up on the 2 Seas website (see below) where interested organisations can submit their own project idea or view the proposals put forward by others.
The grant rate for the 2 Seas programme is 60% and funding is provided in response to financial claims. This means that project participants need to be able to fund their activities upfront and submit receipts in order to claim back 60% of their costs.
There is a two-stage application process and the timetable for the first three calls is available.
