Innovate UK is due to launch Round 3 of its funding for innovation projects in the infrastructure systems sector.
Grants between £25,000 and £5m are available to encourage the development of business-led innovative solutions that will help provide affordable, sustainable and secure energy, connected transport, urban living or integrated infrastructure and resilience of infrastructure to environmental and social pressures. Projects must show clear and significant innovation in one or more of the following areas:
- energy (energy systems, nuclear fission or offshore wind)
- connected transport
- urban living
- smart, resilient and sustainable integrated infrastructure
Projects can be technical feasibility, industrial research or experimental development projects. Grant rates vary according to the applicant: businesses, research organisations, local authorities and not-for-profits can apply and there has to be at least one SME involved.
