The Big Lottery Fund has launched the #iwill Fund to develop opportunities for young people to take part in social and community activities such as campaigning, fundraising and volunteering.
The #iwill Fund aims to transform the culture of community engagement and social action among 10-20 year olds.
A portfolio of match-funders will distribute the funds from a central investment pot created by the Government and Big Lottery Fund:
Comic Relief will provide social action opportunities for young people in areas and backgrounds with below-average levels of participation.
Pears Foundation will support activity within education, health and social care;
UK Community Foundations will distribute grants for local social action opportunities through their network of 43 Community Foundations in England;
Sport England will support projects which create opportunities for 10-20 year-olds to use sport as a way to get involved in community activities.
Focus of fund/fund aims:
To develop opportunities for young people to participate in social action through partner organisations.
