Arts Council England provides investments and funding for the arts, museums and libraries. Arts Council England has a new investment approach for 2018-22 and will now be allocating funding under three funding streams:
National portfolio organisations – upfront allocations to support the annual running costs of arts organisations across the country.
Development funds– a total investment of £72.2m a year for:
- Creative People & Places, targeting areas with low levels of engagement in art and culture
- capital funding programmes
- new Development Funds to be introduced this year including Developing your Creative Practice to support independent creative practitioners
Grants for the arts – open-access programme providing grants from £1,000 to £100,000 to support a wide variety of arts-related activities carried out by individual artists, communities or cultural organisations.
