Audit of Accounts, years ended 31 March 2021 and 31 March 2022

The Accounts and Audit (Amendment) Regulations 2021 and 2022

Notice is given that in accordance with Regulation 10 of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015, the Authority publishes the audited accounts of Devon County Council and Devon Pension Fund together with the Independent Auditors’ Reports for 2020/21 and 2021/22.

Unqualified opinions on the financial statements for 2020/21 and 2021/22 were issued on 25 October 2023 and 2 November 2023 respectively.

The Independent Auditors are unable to formally conclude the audit and issue an audit certificate for 2020/21 and 2021/22 in accordance with the requirements of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 (the Act) and the Code of Audit Practice until they have completed their work on the Authority’s arrangements for securing economy, efficiency and effectiveness in its use of resources and issued their Auditor’s Annual Report.

Any local government elector for the area of the Council has a right to:

  • inspect and make copies of the statements of accounts – if the online version is not readily accessible to you in the format you require then please contact devonfinanceservices-mailbox@devon.gov.uk or the address below or call 01392 383311 and accessibility requirements can be explored
  • obtain copies of the statements of account on payment of a reasonable sum for each copy – this sum may be waived if the format of the Statement of Accounts on the website does not meet an individual’s accessibility requirements
