This gives an indication of the price of the cheapest houses available and may give a better indication of affordability as it is not skewed by very expensive properties.

This table shows the year-on-year percentage change of the Retail Prices Index (RPI). The figures have been rounded to one decimal place. For example, the RPI figure was 255.4 in January 2015 and 258.8 in January 2016 giving a change of 1.3% for the year to January 2016.
