What: A 1 day course to raise awareness of the underpinning principles of the importance of children’s play and how you can meet and implement them in your setting . We will explore some of the key theories behind the need to provide the opportunity and space for children’s play and how we can put them in to practice for all those who work in the childcare and playwork sector. The course will focus on the history of the playwork principals, the theories of play, play cues; play types and loose parts, the role of the playworker and how this meets the requirements of the EYFS. Participants will be given the opportunity to participate in activities which explain how play links with the EYFS and how this can then be transferred into their own settings.
