Foster Children may now be eligible for the Extended Entitlement (30 hours) funding

From September 2018, foster children who are living with working foster parents may now be eligible for the Extended Entitlement (30 hours) funding if supported by the child’s social worker. Foster Carers will need to apply to the Local Authority of the child (not the Local Authority where the foster parents reside, unless it’s the same) and they will be responsible for confirming eligibility and issuing the 11 digit code.  Devon Early Years are working on a local process and talking with the necessary teams to ensure that 30 hours funding is available when it’s in the best interest of the child.  If you should get any enquiries from parents please advise them to contact the child’s social worker in the first instance as the process may differ for each local authority.
