Primary School Designated Areas
All addresses in Devon are served by a primary and secondary school. These are called ‘designated’ areas. This means that children who live in this area will have a higher priority for a place at the school but does not guarantee admission. For more information on primary school designated areas please visit the school admissions page.
Learning Communities
In Devon, schools are organised into local learning community clusters which are usually a secondary school and its feeder primary schools, although there are some instances where there are two or more secondary schools in an area. Schools tend to work collaboratively in each learning community to support improved outcomes for children and school management. For more information on learning communities please visit the local learning communities document.
