Transaction Notifications

Over the past 3-4 months we have been converting our systems to create a detailed ‘transaction notification’ to schools informing them of upcoming payments and charges. We have successfully tested a number of systems and some schools have already started to receive these notifications via SecureNet. It is envisaged that all our systems will be converted by the end of March 2014 and that these ‘transaction notifications’ will aid schools in identifying invoices and reduce the need for schools to query transactions with the Education & Learning Team.

A document has been created to show how this process will work, what details a ‘transaction reference’ report will contain and what information makes a unique transaction reference.

Currently SecureNet is our only secure way of communicating with schools and should you wish to subscribe, I have been informed that the charges are roughly £60 for a primary school and £100 for a secondary school per year and that schools must contact SWGFL via email (change@swgfl.org.uk) to find out more.

All notifications will be sent via SecureNet (Finance Information Community) as this is currently our only way of securely communicating with schools, so therefore schools will have to subscribe to SecureNet to receive these notifications. Please refer to the original post with details on how to subscribe via SWGFL..

Do schools have to subscribe to this? Will notification via Securenet be phased out? If so, is there a timescale for this?
