For students who are entitled to transport assistance from the Local Authority there is a contribution fee. In the 2016/17 academic year the maximum contribution is £560 for the year or £530 if the whole year is paid in advance.
You can pay the whole contribution in full or termly by cheque, credit or debit card, or by monthly direct debit. To get your pass for the start of term, you need to return the payment form by the first week in July at the latest. Travel passes are posted out around the third week in August.
If you pay for your transport and then decide not to go to school or college we will refund the unused part of your payment as long as your travel pass is returned.
The policy and contribution are reviewed each year. You can find out the contribution for September by ringing 0345 155 1019 from 1 May.
What if I can’t pay the contribution?
If you are finding it difficult to pay for your transport please contact your school or college as they may be able to provide help from their Bursary Fund. Some schools and colleges pay the transport fee directly to us for students from low income families. Others may make payments to the student.
