Is your business in an eligible sector?
Businesses operating in the following sectors are not eligible to receive support from Enhance Social Enterprise: Fisheries and aquaculture, Processing and marketing of agricultural products, Shipbuilding, Schools/school age educational establishments, Insurance companies, Primary production, Coal or steel, Synthetic Fibres, Banking.
Is your business an SME?
Your business must be classed as a small/medium sized enterprise. To be classified as an SME your business must: employ fewer than 250 people, have an annual turnover of less than €50m (approx. £42m), have a balance sheet value of less than €43m (approx£36m), be less than 25% owned by another company or combination of companies, have received less than €200,000 of public funding in the last three years. If the answer is yes to all of the above then you are eligible.
Have you received less than €200,000 of public funded support in the last 3 years?
Support from the Enhance Social Enterprise will be provided under the De Minimis Regulation (1407/2013) which allows businesses to received up to €200,000 of State Aid assistance over a three year period. The State Aid Rules cover ANY public funding that you have received during the current and previous two financial years. We will require you to declare previous funding before receiving support to ensure that the value of the assistance you receive via Enhance Social Enterprise does not bring you over the €200,000 threshold.
