Level 3 Training

The Safeguarding Training now consists of two one day training sessions and it is important that they are undertaken in order.

Level 3 AS – MSP Adult Safeguarding – Making Safeguarding Personal

Before attending this training, you must have completed the Level 2 Adults Safeguarding E-Learning. Failure to complete the E-Learning may lead to you being turned away from the course and your Organisation being charged for your place. Please find the link below for the E-Learning:

E-Learning

Description:

This module will provide you with the knowledge you require to respond appropriately to safeguarding adults concerns, it puts the person concerned at the centre when you undertake initial risk assessments, consider evidence and make emergency protection plans. It will consider what actions can be taken by providers to prevent harm occurring in the first place.

It will give those who come into contact with services the opportunity to explore how they can demonstrate that they are meeting the Fundamental Standards. Attendees will be encouraged to reflect on their own experience when discussing the issues involved.

Who Should Attend:

This module is suitable for staff who may need to respond to concerns raised by others, for example, senior staff in provider services lone workers or those who co-ordinate any part of the safeguarding process, e.g. Care Direct workers

Level 3 MCA – DoLS Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards

E-Learning

Description:

This module will provide you with the knowledge you require to use the mental capacity act appropriately. This will include preventing abuse, positive risk taking and the appropriate use of restrictions and restraint as well as advance and proxy decision making arrangements.

It will provide you with an understanding of when and how to use the least restrictive options of the deprivation of liberty safeguards. Attendees will be encouraged to reflect on their own experience when discussing the issues involved.

Who Should Attend:

Any staff who may need to make complex Mental Capacity Assessments, provide support to staff with MCA assessments or to make/assist in Deprivation of Liberty safeguard applications.
