Officer Decisions

Chief Officer for Highways, Infrastructure Development and Waste - David Whitton

Summary of Matter or Issue Requiring Decision:

Parracombe Primary School – Rebuild scheme

Decision Taken:

Following a fire at Parracombe Primary School in 2013, most of the school was rebuilt. The majority of the costs were covered by DCC insurance. However the insurance policy did not cover consultant’s professional fees.  The final part of the reconstruction work was to reinstate the hall floor; this could not take place until sufficient time had been allowed for the original concrete subfloor to dry out (having previously been exposed to the elements for a period of two years). The relaying of the new floor has now taken place and the additional funding required is due to NPS’ additional fee over this extended period.

Authority is requested to increase the allocation for this project by £9,700, funded from savings on a project at Marpool Primary.
