It may come as a surprise but bikes need love too. Ensuring your bike has a regular check up is essential if you want to start clocking up those cycle miles.
Making sure you regularly check your bike for minor snags will help to keep your bike in good condition and save you time and money in the long run.
Take a look at the Sustrans website to see what regular checks you should be making.
Servicing and repairs
Your bike should be serviced at least once a year, or once every six months if you cycle regularly over longer distances. Most cycle shops offer bike servicing and repairs so take a look at our cycle shops page to find your nearest store.
Dr Bike safety check ups
Dr Bike sessions offer you the opportunity to get a free safety check up on your bike. Events which are open to the public will be displayed here but you can also contact the Travel Devon team to organise a Dr Bike session at your workplace! Find out more by visiting the Travel Devon Toolkit.
