Buying a bike
There are various ways to buy a bike which will suit your needs and budget:
Visit your friendly local cycle store
If you’re in the market for a new bike, or just looking for some helpful advice, pop in to one of the many friendly local cycle shops across Devon.
See our cycle shops page for full details.
Ask your employer about a Cycle to Work scheme
To help promote healthier journeys to work, the Government introduced the Cycle to Work Scheme which allows employers to loan bikes and cycling equipment to employees as a tax-free benefit.
The Cycle to Work scheme is a great way to get your hands on a brand new bike while saving tax and national insurance and spreading the cost over 12 months.
To find out if your employer has a Cycle to Work scheme, get in touch with your HR department or Travel Plan Coordinator.
Pick up a pre-loved bike
Second hand bikes are a great option for those with a more restricted budget. They come in all shapes and sizes and are perfect for beginners who aren’t sure which type of bike to choose.
