Progress update – March 2018

Construction work on Cumberland Way between Harts Lane (to the north) and the Tithebarn Link Road roundabout (to the south) is now mainly complete. Road markings for the new carriageway, cycle lanes and footway will be installed later in the programme.

Earthworks for the new Monkerton Farm access road stub are now complete and some tree planting will be undertaken here in the coming weeks. The main kerbing, drainage and carriageway construction is also complete in this region. Surfacing was delayed as a result of the poor weather but is now scheduled for late March/early April.

Construction work is well underway on the west of Cumberland Way between Pilton Lane (to the north) and the new Monkerton Farm access road stub (to the south). So far, this includes the removal of old kerbs and tarmac allowing for the new footway, cycleway, kerbing, drainage and upgraded lighting columns to be installed.

Work at the Tithebarn Link Road roundabout will begin soon. This work will link the cycleways to the north and south of this point, which have already been constructed, and will include a parallel crossing over the new access road.
