Progress update – December 2017

Construction work on Cumberland Way between Hollow Lane (to the south) and the Tithebarn Link Road roundabout (to the north) is now mainly complete. However, road markings for the new carriageway, cycle lanes and footway will be installed later in the programme.

The new permanent Toucan crossing installation at the Hollow Lane junction is now operational.

Lighting column duct installation on the eastern side of Cumberland Way, outside the David Wilson Homes development site is now complete. The new lighting columns, once installed, will help to illuminate the new Monkerton Farm access road, on the western side of Cumberland Way.

Excavation work for the new Monkerton Farm access road is progressing well. The new access stub (for future development) has been excavated and the foundation layer installed. The batter slopes serving this new access road are also taking shape and will be clearly visible to passing motorists. Kerbing and drainage work associated with this new access road is underway.
