Progress update – April 2018

Construction work at the Tithebarn Link Road roundabout is now underway and will link the bi-directional cycle paths leading to Harts Lane (to the north) and Hollow Lane (to the south) which were constructed earlier in the programme. This work includes earthworks, kerbing, drainage, footway construction and lighting and will include a parallel crossing over the new access road.

The new Monkerton Farm access road stub is now predominantly complete with regard to kerbing, drainage, carriageway construction and lighting columns. Some tree planting has also been undertaken on the embankment. Road markings for the new carriageway, cycle lanes and footway will be installed later in the programme.

Construction work is progressing well on the west of Cumberland Way/Pinhoe Road between Pilton Lane (to the north) and the new Monkerton Farm access road stub (to the south). The majority of the old kerbs and tarmac have been removed to allow for the new cycleway and associated works. In the past month, most of the work undertaken at this location has been below ground, making necessary connections and diversions to drainage and buried services.
