Fair and affordable care

Top-up payments

If you want a care and support plan that is more money than the most affordable plan, we will talk to you about how this could happen.

You might be able to put some of your own or your family’s money towards the cost of your care so you can choose who supports you and for how long.

We have a top-up payments policy that explains the rules for the arrangement of an additional payment so you can receive your preferred care package.

We can arrange for you to make a top-up payment in residential and nursing care, shared lives schemes and supported living.

We are unable to arrange top-ups for care and support that is delivered in the community or in your own home.

If you want to receive care in the community or in your own home that is more expensive than your personal budget you will need to enter into a private agreement with a care provider for any additional costs.
