Devon County Council is reminding road users that a series of overnight closures of Bridge Road in Exeter will take effect this week, starting from tonight (Monday 22 May).
The road will be closed for four consecutive evenings from tonight to Thursday (25 May), closing at 8:30pm and re-opening by 5:30am the following morning on each occasion.
The closures will enable the installation of the final sections of cantilever beams and bridge deck for the Countess Wear pedestrian and cycle bridge.
The diversion route will be signed via Topsham Road, Alphington Road, Marsh Barton and the A379. Details of the diversion route are available here.
Details of changes to Stagecoach bus services will be available at https://www.stagecoachbus.com/regional-service-updates/south-west/greater-exeter
Pedestrians and cyclists can continue to use Bridge Road during the closures using the temporary footpath/cyclepath marked. They may be marshalled through the works and are therefore urged to take care and follow instructions from the site staff.
Keep up to date via the Bridge Road Widening Scheme website where you can sign up for alerts.
