Temporary traffic lights overnight tonight (20 Sept) and tomorrow night (21 Sept)

Temporary traffic signals will be needed overnight on Bridge Road in Exeter this evening (Tuesday 20 September) and tomorrow night, from 11pm to 5am.

The temporary lights, while the road is reduced to one lane, will provide working space to allow the contractor to install the metal safety barrier to the parapet on the east side of Countess Wear Flood Relief.

At this stage it is a contingency for temporary lights overnight on Wednesday night, but they may not be required.

Anyone travelling overnight at this time should expect delays, including limited periods of up to 10 minutes when the lights are set to ‘all-red’ in order to move construction plant.

Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to access Bridge Road during this overnight period, although they may be marshalled through the works and are therefore urged to take care and follow instructions from the site staff.

Please remember that the road will also be closed to traffic from 10pm on Friday (23 September) until 5am on Monday 26 September as the improvements continue.
