Maggie Rae

Maggie Rae – Corporate Director (Adult Social Care and Public Health), at Wiltshire Council

Maggie has extensive experience of working nationally regionally and locally on public health issues. Nationally, she chaired the cross UK government response to September 11 and was involved in orchestrating the response to the London 2005 bombings, the
death of Alexander Litvinenko and the planning for a pandemic influenza outbreak.

Maggie also advised the Cabinet Office and the Prime Minister’s delivery unit on performance and commissioned local government (health) programmes.

 
She is experienced in community engagement and sees this work significantly contributing to engaging with the most deprived communities. Maggie is committed to staff training and development and has successfully developed training programmes at Wiltshire Council
for public health, GP training and local government trainees. Maggie has led the Wiltshire programme to improve overall performance in public health and wellbeing to make Wiltshire one of the best performing areas in the country.
