Please can you provide:
* the number of people in Devon who are currently in receipt of a War Disablement Pension and accessing social care support via the local authority
* the number of people in Devon who access social care support via the local authority who have undergone financial reassessment since the April 2017 change in legislation allowing them to retain their War Disablement Pension in full.
* The number of people in Devon who have undergone a financial assessment for Social Care support who have a War Disablement Pension since April 2017
Devon County Council do not hold this information separately from our other social care records. Therefore, the only way this information could be extracted would be by a manual review of all care records of all pensioners who would be likely to be in receipt of a war disablement pension.
We estimate this to be in the region of 3,500 clients and, if we allow 10 minutes per file, the estimated time this would take would total in excess of 583 hours.
This exceeds the appropriate limit and this information is therefore exempt from disclosure pursuant to s.12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
